The United Kingdom is set to progress with using the full worth of seized Russian funds to bolster the Ukrainian war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the Britain, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would increase strain on Russian President Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to come to the table.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in close cooperation with the America.

British sanctions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's assets since the Russian government launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, previously, funds provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian holdings had solely been sourced from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their goal to drive progress toward employing the total worth of the seized Russia's state funds to halt hostilities.

He added that further measures in the coming days and weeks would heighten the tension on Russia.

This statement follows European leaders gathered in Copenhagen previously to consider using seized Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump called on international partners to confiscate or otherwise use immobilized Russia's assets, based on reports.

The total of seized Russian funds in the EU is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow executed extensive missile and drone strikes all over the Ukrainian territory on Friday, causing blackouts in many areas of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.

While praising the Britain's strong support for Ukraine, he remarked it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the program, as well as enforce additional measures on Russia.
