Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against 38 victims who were patients.

Details of the Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Offences

The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
