Jurgen Klopp says a return to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, remarked that a future comeback is a possibility. Klopp, post a game-changing near-decade reign which brought Champions League success and the Premier League crown for three decades, now holds roles in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and His Frank Comments

The club claimed England's top flight in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would embrace the notion that he might come back one day. During an extensive chat, he shared with his interviewer: “I declared I won't manage another team within the country. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“At 58 years old, that means I might decide later on, I don’t know. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, I don’t have to do that. I'll simply watch what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on what circumstances would need to occur to draw him back to the dugout, he revealed he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be under bad weather through long matches; I'm glad to skip media briefings four times, three times a week or constant media duties weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, but sitting in a restaurant alongside the squad having a nice chat, is pleasant. With many victories thus frequently great spirits in the building. I still have Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, crediting him due to the changes which secured the championship last term. The team has suffered a string of losses in every contest post heavy investment, though he denied the idea that it might signal a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. An outstanding player. Ekitike, superb talent. This is a well-built balanced team. No need for concern about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, and its impact at the club. Jota lost his life in a vehicle collision together with his sibling this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond the player himself, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the squad missing him. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. It was an incredible shock for all the boys as well. No one within the club would cite it as an excuse yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that emotionally is challenging. Unbearable.”
