The Streaming Platform to Bring a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed game that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for celebrating chaos and madness with equal glee, all while weaving captivating, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose projects have embodied all of those qualities.

Show Details

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game series, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' structure by having a fresh location and group of personalities in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the showrunner.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family always encourages me with their steady confidence and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology program. Every instalment is a variation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the nature of society through this multifaceted and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and present our common bold, visionary approach to the television.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
